Russell has previously performed on The Nashville Network (with his brother Martin under the name of "The Winchesters"), The Bluebird Café in Nashville, and as "Doc Metzger" at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. He won the 2005 NMMA "Best Country" award for his song " A Home Blessed with Love."
